Some Distinguished UAST Centers
● Bushehr Polymer Center of Applied Science and Technology
This center is affiliated with Bushehr Polymer Industrial Group which has over 26000 employees in 24 industrial, manufacturing, and trading companies all over the country in the fields of polymer industry, health, hygiene, and aquafarming. This industrial group provides goods and services for a considerable share of the Iranian market and also exports its products into international markets including the North and South America.
Established in 2002 under the supervision of UAST and affiliated with the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, this center is now one of the pioneers of Elevator technology in the region, training hundreds of Iranian and foreign technicians every year. KCAST has held any international seminars in the field of elevator design and technology and has actively worked with vocational universities and institutes of higher education in England and the Netherlands.
The first university in the lubrication industry, this center is affiliated with Pars Oil Company, the oldest and one of the four refineries producing motor oils and industrial lubricants with over 50 years of experience. This center has received the selected award of Entrepreneurship and Productive Employment from the (UAST) and has earned the title of the Exemplary Industrial and Mineral Center. Over the years, education has been a top priority of the company and this center has eight professional and technical disciplines in Associate and Master programs.
Imam Reza Center of Applied Science and Technology (IRCAST) began its activities in June 2008 in Eslamabad Gharb, Kermanshah Province in the west of Iran. So far, 6500 students have been graduated from this center. Currently, 1000 students are studying in seven specialized disciplines (Electricity Engineering, Mechanics Engineering, Architecture, Computer Engineering, Accounting, Law and Management).IRCAST had some seminars in Iraq Kurdistan Region.
● Imam Khomeini Center of Applied Science and Technology (Jahad-e Daneshgahi)
Jahad-e Daneshgahi Center of Applied Science and Technology (Imam Khomeini) is the oldest and one of the most important educational centers affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture. The Center is strategically located in the vicinity of the most important agriculture research institutes, has 100 hectares of farming land, and is equipped with 26 laboratories and workshops. Joint courses in natural resources and plant protection have been offered at the Center in collaboration with other prestigious universities and institutes.
● Tehran Fire Fighting Center of Applied Science and Technology
This center is affiliated with the firefighting services and the safety of Tehran Municipality and since its establishment in 2004 has been actively engaged in educating and training students and raising the qualitative and quantitative levels of occupational health and safety. At present,700 students are studying in this center.
● Culture and Arts Center of Applied Science and Technology- Unit 46
Since its establishment in 2001, this center has been actively training and educating students in different fields of art. In the field of music, the Center’s activities have resulted in the creation of symphonic orchestra. This center also offers such cinematic majors as directing, acting, and editing.
● Ra’d Center of Applied Science and Technology
Ra’d Center of Applied Science and Technology was established in 2011 to provide the disabled with an opportunity to continue their studies at tertiary level and consequently to facilitate their entry into the labor market. Currently, 421 students are studying at this center, 130 of whom are disabled. Disabled students also form %85 of the student population in different sports disciplines such as wheelchair basketball, table tennis, and football. Tuition is free for all the disabled students and transportation and other welfare services are provided for them.
● Mahan Aviation Center of Applied Science and Technology
Mahan Center of Applied Science and Technology began its activities in February 2012 to enhance the skill level of workers and young people interested in the aviation industry. The center aims to provide new and diverse training courses to conduct aviation teaching using the best educational facilities, experienced teachers, and new methods with the highest level of international standards.
● Poolad Pichkar Center of Applied Science and Technology
Established with the aim of educating engineers and specialists required in industry, Poolad Pichkar is one of the largest manufacturers of nuts and bolts in the Middle East and is a pioneer center in industry-university cooperation. The major aim of this center is to train students who can meet the needs of manufacturing sectors not only for Iran but also for international markets.
