University of Applied Science and Technology in a new academic Perspective with Iraq & Kurdistan Region

Dr. Mohammad Akhbari, the president of UAST, along with a high-ranking delegation from Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), headed by MSRT’s Acting Minister in International Collaboration, paid an official visit to Iraq and Kurdistan Region. During this visit it was agreed that a consortium of educational and scientific cooperation would be formed by University of Applied Science & Technology, Technical & Vocational University, G.I.Z institute from Germany and University of Technology in Iraq. It was coincided with other academic staff of Iran universities to Iraq with the aim of development of relations and scientific cooperation. During an agreement by a consortium between the University of Applied Science and Technology and Technical Vocational universities from Iran and Technology University of Iraq and also G.I.Z Institute from Germany, it was agreed that scientific cooperation and training activities would start and expand through the UAST management, UAST public relations reported. This report indicates that based on the agreements in the first step the names of some of the students of the Technology University of Iraq will be announced to participate in training courses. It was done on a visit to Iraq: The president of the UAST warmly welcomed the Minister of Science and Technology from Iraq. Dr.Mohammad Akhbari, along with a delegation of university presidents has traveled to Iraq to promote joint scientific cooperation. He also met Dr. Shahristani, Iraq's Minister of Science, UAST public relations reported. During the meeting which was attended by the Iraqi scientific officials and university presidents the need for mutual comprehensive development of scientific cooperation was emphasized. It should be noted that the President of the University of Applied Science and Technology visited the University of Baghdad and he was informed from the latest scientific research achievements of the university. With presence in the Iranian embassy in Baghdad: University President met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad. Dr. Akhbari during a multi-day trip to Iraq along with a delegation attended at the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad and met Mr. Danaifar, Iranian ambassador in Baghdad. In the meeting which was held at the invitation of the Iranian Embassy, the Iranian delegation explained the purpose of their visit and asked for providing facilities and infrastructure for the development of scientific communication and education with the neighboring country of Iraq through the embassy.
