Development of cooperation between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Tehran and the University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST
Prof. Bozorg-Haddad, The Vice-President of Research and Technology (UAST), Prof. Delavar, Advisor to the President and Director General of International and Scientific Cooperation Office of UAST, and Dr. Frens Stoeckel, Director of the German Academy Exchange Service (DAAD) met in The University of Applied Science and Technology on February 12, 2017.
In this meeting Dr. Frens Stoeckel, explained the goals of the German Academic Exchange Service for internationalization of education, exchanging professors and students, the development of scientific and international cooperation and scholarships, holding some conferences and workshops in the field of scientific cooperation among universities and educational institutions and announced the willingness to strengthen academic exchanges between two countries on vocational education and training domain.
He added that the Institute will provide 600 scholarships to Iranian students in 2017, most of which will be for universities and colleges.Dr. Frens Stoeckel noted that the Institute has 70 branches in different countries.
It was also decided that a list of opportunities for collaborative academic exchanges and scholarships to be sent by the German Academic Exchange Institute to The University of Applied Science and Technology.
In this regard, it was emphasized that the German professors, specialists and students visit the institutions and educational centers of The University of Applied Science and Technology and also professors, instructors, officials and students of the University of Applied Science and Technology visit the Universities and German Educational and Scientific Training Centers.
Prof. Bozorg-Haddad proposed the development of joint courses and research, exchange of professors, instructors and students.
Prof. Delavar also suggested the development and holding of joint courses with Dual Degree and participation in EU Research Projects under the H 2020 Projects.
It was also stipulated by Prof. Delavar that the German Academic Exchange Institute take necessary measurements on organizing an educational workshop on Higher Education Skills and introducing German Vocational and Educational Training and Skill Higher Education Universities for University of Applied Science and Technology in next three months. It was also suggested that a similar workshop be conducted to introduce the potential and capabilities of the University of Applied Science and Technology and relevant institutions and centers in Germany in order to explain the ways of cooperation between the two sides.
