UAST and National University of Skills Hold Joint Meeting on International Cooperation
In line with efforts to enhance mutual understanding of the international strategies of both institutions within the framework of the applied higher education system, and to explore opportunities for synergistic utilization of existing capacities, a formal meeting was held on April 13, 2025, between the Head of the Office for Scientific and International Cooperation of the University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST) and Mr. Nazarian, Director General of the Office for Scientific and International Cooperation of the National University of Skills.
During the meeting, Mr. Nazarian emphasized that the current international priority of the National University of Skills lies in fostering global partnerships particularly in the areas of trainer development programs and faculty exchange opportunities. He further highlighted the university’s strong international connections with its target countries.
Dr. Bagheri Farahani, representing UAST, elaborated on the university’s distinctive capacities arising from its structural integration with the labor market and its efficient model for managing national resources. He noted that the university’s collaboration with its private-sector partners and their international affiliates provides a valuable platform for developing purposeful and practice-oriented international cooperation. These capacities, he stated, could be effectively mobilized through joint initiatives between the two universities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to identify specific areas of mutual interest and to take necessary steps in subsequent sessions to formalize and operationalize the proposed collaborations.
