Second Joint Meeting Held Between the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University and the German Association for Trade Brokerage with Developing Countries (DHV)

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand international collaborations, the second joint meeting between the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University of Applied Science and Technology and the German Association for Trade Brokerage with Developing Countries (DHV) was held on Thursday, May 2, 2025, in the President’s Conference Hall of the University.

The session was attended by Dr. Khalili, Vice President for Research and Technology; Dr. Nasri, Executive Advisor to the President of the University; senior managers from the central and provincial offices; and selected heads of Applied Science and Technology Training Centers.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Bagheri Farahani, Head of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation, provided an overview of the University's previous engagements with DHV. He highlighted the status, objectives, and comparative advantages of the University of Applied Science and Technology and outlined potential areas for mutual collaboration. These included establishing international university branches, designing new educational programs to facilitate technology transfer, pursuing international accreditation of academic credentials, exchanging professional faculty, organizing industrial site visits and startup-related educational tours aimed at the commercialization of innovative and technological achievements.

During the session, representatives from selected Applied Science and Technology Training Centers shared their past experiences in collaborating with German educational and industrial institutions and presented concrete proposals for practical cooperation. Suggested areas included the training of instructors in line with current technological standards in fields such as shoe mold design, transfer of advanced railway welding technologies, cooperation in the elevator industry, joint ventures in recycling industrial foam waste, and development of various sub-sectors within the tourism industry.

In conclusion, the participants emphasized the importance of forming specialized working groups to follow up on the proposed initiatives. With the support of the training centers and the welcoming response from the DHV delegation, it was agreed that the visiting delegation would tour the Koosha Applied Science Training Center in Tehran and the City Center Training Center in Isfahan.

The DHV delegation at the meeting included Dr. Jazayeri (Regional Director of DHV), Mr. Ahmadian (Board Member of DHV and CEO of Radman Company), Mr. Soroudi (Energy Sector Advisor to DHV), Dr. Habashi (Advisor to DHV in Civil Engineering and Structures), and Mr. Ulrich Baltzer (Senior Advisor to DHV).
