On September 21, 2025, Dr. Bagheri Farahani, Director General of the University’s Office of Scientific and International Cooperation, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and met with Dr. Kiaei, Director General of the BRICS and Shanghai Affairs Department. During the meeting, Dr. Bagheri Farahani introduced the university’s organizational structure, capacities, academic programs, and its history of engagement with BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He emphasized the priority of enhancing the university’s academic relations with member countries of BRICS and SCO and stressed active participation in these organizations’ programs. He also highlighted the plan to establish a Skills Training Center in 2024 under the BRICS rotating presidency and underscored the importance of pursuing this initiative. Additionally, he presented further proposals concerning cooperation opportunities among BRICS member states. Dr. Kiaei acknowledged the Ministry’s ongoing follow-up on BRICS and SCO affairs and expressed readiness to pursue the university’s cooperation proposals through coordination with relevant authorities within these organizations. He noted that due to the merger of BRICS and SCO directorates, reviewing past records and tracking previously submitted projects is essential. He added that upon receipt of conceptual notes for new proposals, the Ministry is prepared to facilitate their presentation and follow-up in the upcoming period. Dr. Kiaei also expressed interest in receiving a written dossier detailing the relative capacities and advantages of the University of Applied Science and Technology. In response, Dr. Bagheri Farahani provided a comprehensive written introduction to the university along with project proposals for BRICS cooperation.
