The University of Applied Science and Technology has become one of the 22 Iranian universities admitted to the BRICS Academic Network.
According to the Center for Scientific and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, at the extraordinary board meeting held on July 2, 2025 (11 Tir 1404), the International Board of the BRICS Academic Network approved the membership of the University of Applied Science and Technology in the Network’s BRICS Studies thematic group (ITG: BRICS Studies).
It is noteworthy that in this meeting, a list of 178 member universities from the 9 member countries of the network was approved across 11 international thematic groups. Each member country is allowed up to 22 higher education institutions in the network, introduced to the International Governing Board (IGB) by the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) of that country.
These institutions, limited to a maximum of two per country in each thematic group, collaborate scientifically in the following fields:
1- Computer Science and Information Security
2- BRICS Studies
3- Energy
4- Ecology and Climate Change
5- Water Resources and Pollution Control
6- Economics
7- Mathematics
8- Natural Sciences
9- Humanities and Social Sciences
10- Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security
11- Health Sciences
