A joint meeting between the University of Applied Science and Technology and the Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center was held on Tuesday, October 8, 2025, hosted by the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University,
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Bagheri Farahani, Director General of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation, explained the objectives of the session, stating that this gathering, with the presence of managers from various university departments, provided an opportunity to present the expectations of the Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center regarding collaboration with the university and to discuss potential approaches for addressing these expectations through the university’s capacities.
Subsequently, Dr. Fathali, Deputy of Education and Technology Research at the Center, elaborated on the role and status of the Center within the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, highlighting its infrastructural capacities, authority in issuing relevant technical certificates, and its stewardship in manpower training within the Ministry, expressing readiness for cooperation in various fields.
Additionally, managers from specialized domains present discussed at length topics such as the history of applied science centers' activities in the mission areas of roads and urban development, utilization of short-term training capacities like the “Abad Plan,” revitalization of specialized centers with a focus on the private sector, curriculum development for required specialized courses, designing competency models for various jobs in the roads and urban development sectors, and leveraging the capacities of both parties in developing the innovation and technology ecosystem in this field.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to prepare the necessary groundwork for signing a joint cooperation memorandum, and to expedite collaboration by identifying and providing a database of experts in the fields of road, housing, and urban development.
