Meeting of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University with the New Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India

In line with the expansion of the University of Applied Science and Technology’s international engagements, a consultative meeting was held between the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University and the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Bagheri, Director General of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University, congratulated Dr. Fathali on his appointment as the new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India and wished him success in his mission. He highlighted India’s significant position and capacities, noting that the institutions and organizations related to skill-based higher education in India are among the University’s top priorities for expanding cooperation.

Dr. Bagheri further emphasized that the University of Applied Science and Technology, with its numerous training centers located near industries, its structural link with the labor market, and its reliance on the private sector, possesses high potential for developing joint collaborations. He referred to cooperation in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence, exchange of experiences in agriculture, and collaboration within the innovation and technology ecosystem as key areas for partnership. He also pointed out India’s rotating presidency of BRICS in 2026 and the cultural affinity between the two countries as additional factors that underscore the importance and priority of such cooperation.

In continuation, Dr. Fathali welcomed and expressed readiness to enhance the University’s academic and international cooperation with India, emphasizing the role of scientific diplomacy as an effective platform for strengthening bilateral relations. He also underscored the need to facilitate academic, economic, and cultural connections between the two countries and considered studying cooperation potentials and conducting on-site visits to India as effective steps toward establishing partnerships.

The proposed initiatives included organizing scientific tours such as visits to academic and research centers and private companies in New Delhi and Hyderabad, designing and implementing joint educational programs, exchange of faculty and students, and launching applied projects in fields such as information technology, biotechnology, smart agriculture, block chain, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, and advanced vocational training.
