Review of Cooperation Areas between University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST), and Ural Federal University, Russia

In a joint meeting between the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University and the Advisor to the International Director of the Ural Federal University, the areas of joint cooperation between the two universities were reviewed.

The meeting was held on November 4, 2025 (4th of Aban, 1404) at the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University. Attendees included Dr. Bagheri, Director General of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation; Dr. Maleki, Head of the Allameh Tabarsi Applied Science Center; Dr. Beigi, a faculty member and expert in the Russian media sector; and Lou Kerkutun, Advisor to the International Director of the Ural Federal University and Advisor to the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia.

During the session, while introducing the respective capacities of both sides, promising areas for cooperation were discussed and exchanged. These included applied Russian language training, as well as educational and research collaboration in the fields of mining, metallurgy, and oil and gas. Cooperation in innovative fields such as artificial intelligence, e-commerce, network security, and the launch of joint startups were other topics on the agenda.

The Advisor to the Ural Federal University, referring to the provision of opportunities for Iranian students to benefit from scholarships, summer schools, and joint scientific festivals, stated that the Ural region, as Russia's largest industrial hub, possesses vast aluminum reserves, numerous mines, and major companies such as the Russian Copper Company. He also noted the region's potential tourism capacities.

Collaboration in the field of health tourism, organizing scientific and academic tours, and inviting professors from the University of Applied Science and Technology to visit Russia in the upcoming spring and summer were among his suggestions for developing cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized the follow-up on the signing of a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and more effective interaction in international forums such as the BRICS University Network.
